Our first press release for the TEMPEST run at South Coast Repertory has been made public. Working on the show in California has been an amazing treat. The environment is great, the weather is fantastic, and the magic is flowing. It has been a special time for us in our third run of the show. Many changes have been made, all for the better, of course.
Hopefully, we get a few people form the previous runs to come and see the current version of the show. I look forward to hearing what the people will have to say about our South Coast run. If you have comments, or saw the show, please post them below. And, as always, if you want to know more about me or to book me for an evening show then follow up on the website.
Here is a small sample of the press release for California. You can read the entire article at the link below.
COSTA MESA, Calif.—Shakespeare’s tale of shipwrecks, sorcery and young love, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller, arrives at South Coast Repertory to open the 2014-15 season, Aug. 29-Sept. 28, on the Segerstrom Stage. After two sold-out runs in Las Vegas and Boston, the performances at SCR will be the show’s only Southern California engagement. Tickets for this exclusive run are available now at www.scr.org.
Transformed onstage into a travelling tent show, this is The Tempest unlike anything you—or the Bard—ever envisioned. As the wizard Prospero plots revenge on the enemies who banished him, this exuberant tale takes on a new life—thanks to the haunting ballads by the inimitable Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, the magic by Teller and the movement by Matt Kent of the dance troupe Pilobolus. The New York Times calls this production “inventive” and “freshly reimagined.”
